Pitchin' with Pitchers

Join Dumb Luck @ Mike Hess Seaport Village Feb. 20th!

Before we get into next week’s event, how about a quick pat on the back for last January!?

Special shout out to all who came to cut up old magazines and lay out some goals for 2025.

We added a little structure this time around and it seemed to really help everyone open up. Some highlights from the crew:

  • Oscar & Jorge have their sites set on expanding their business in the US this year. Check out some of their work here.

  • Kenny, amongst many hidden talents, is fulfilling his passion project of composing and releasing a classical album this year. Connect with the man, the myth, the legend.

  • Brandon caught wind of us through pure... dumb luck, after seeing our post on NextDoor. Sometimes, you have to love the internet. 🤝

What’s next? 🎤

What exactly is… Pitchin’ with Pitchers?

What started as a Love-Month twist on speed dating turned into an idea for us to get out of our comfort zones and practice that elevator pitch. Don't worry, no Slides necessary.

We want to give everyone a chance to flex their creativity and public speaking through something they’re passionate about. It can be real, serious, outrageous, however you want your personality to come through. Some thought starters include:

  • That screenplay you're working on

  • The dream brand collab

  • A product or service that SOMEHOW doesn't exist.

  • Your business or skillset

Think of it like Subway Takes meets speed networking.

  1. We’ll pass out notecards and pens so you can keep track of your favorite pitches.

  2. Everyone will get 90 seconds to lay out their pitch.

  3. Then the other person will go.

  4. We'll rotate around until we’re all pitched out or the beer pitchers have been emptied, and everyone will hand in their votes at the end.

  5. Winner gets a prize! (bragging rights)

When: February 20th, 6-9pm

Don’t forget, we’re on Geneva.

We’ll be honest. Activity has been light over here. We need you to join in and spice it up! This app was tailor made for getting people off the screens and hanging in person. If you’re finding things to do in San Diego but don’t have homies to join you, now you do.

Hop in the chat and let’s go!

If you’re hesitant about joining your first event, reach out to either Austin or Bre with any questions! All are welcome.

We’re building a group to support personal and professional goals. From finding others with skills and advice to help with work or passion projects, to hitting Balboa park and taking in the botanical gardens on the weekend.

Hope to see you soon. ♣️
